Our final composition project for the year involved learning the basics of using a DAW, or a digital audio workstation. Students learned how to compose, record, arrange and edit using Garage Band. This unit is a 5th grade favorite because students have complete creative control and can compose in any style or genre of music that they want. The main objective of this unit is really the process of learning and experimenting with this composition program. This means the guidelines for finished pieces were pretty forgiving. Enjoy!
